A sticker on a mirror. That's the whole idea.

Change + Check:
the campaign so far

In 2019, Lorraine producer Helen Addis put a simple reminder in changing rooms across the UK: while you're getting changed, check your breasts. Seven years on, that sticker has travelled from shop mirrors to the back of Royal Mail post, into Parliament, and onto studio doors where it caught the eye of Davina McCall.

Founded by Helen Addis MBE · Launched on ITV's Lorraine, 30 April 2019

While you're here…
check your breasts
Know your normal. If something changes, get it checked.

The Change + Check sticker, now in thousands of changing rooms nationwide.

Why a sticker matters

Over 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK every year. The earlier it's found, the better the odds. Change + Check puts the prompt exactly where people are already undressed and in front of a mirror.

The story in seven years

The proof it works

"Lorraine had put signs on the back of all the doors saying 'check your breasts'. And every time I went for a wee, I did that, and it was still there."

Davina McCall, announcing her diagnosis, November 2025

Davina found her lump while filming The Masked Singer, where Change + Check signs had been placed on the studio doors. The cancer was very small, caught very early, and removed with clear margins. As Lorraine Kelly put it: "That's the whole point of the campaign — to raise awareness and save lives."

Who's put the sticker up

The campaign works because organisations give it wall space where it counts.

Backed on screen and off by Lorraine Kelly, Dr Hilary Jones, the Loose Women, Sally Dynevor, and supporters from Madonna to Naomi Campbell.

Do one thing today

Get to know your normal. Check regularly — in the shower, getting changed, wherever the mirror finds you. If anything changes, see your GP. That's it. That's the campaign.
